RhinAer® Treatment for Chronic Runny, Stuffy Nose Relief

Tired of always having a runny nose, post-nasal drip, sneezing, or seemingly constant congestion?

For patients who suffer from moderate to severe chronic rhinitis, the RhinAer® procedure offers a non-invasive treatment option that can provide lasting relief without surgery.

If you are one of the 30 million Americans who suffer from non-allergic rhinitis — which produces a persistent runny nose not caused by allergies — this condition can significantly disrupt your daily life, sleep quality, and lead to other problems, such as frequent sinus infections.

Non-allergic rhinitis can be an extremely frustrating disorder that is categorized by all the same symptoms of sinusitis or allergies but NOT due to sinusitis or allergies.

Common symptoms of chronic rhinitis include:

  • Constant running nose
  • Persistent post-nasal drip that leads to clearing of throat, coughing, or an “itchy throat” feeling
  • Frequent “stuffed up” feeling
  • Excessive sneezing

With non-allergic rhinitis, the nose is overly sensitive to common air particles that trigger a response, which physically irritates the nasal and sinus lining causing symptoms. Whereas with allergies, the irritant response is due to an immunological reaction.  In some instances, patients may suffer from both allergic and non-allergic rhinitis. For those who have chronic rhinitis, but do not have allergies, overactive nerves within the nasal cavity are likely to blame.

For many people, medication and other treatment approaches can help—but may only bring fleeting relief. Nearly half of chronic rhinitis sufferers report these don’t help enough.  Thankfully, you can now get lasting relief with a single, non-invasive RhinAer treatment performed right in your doctor’s office.

About The RhinAer® Procedure

The RhinAer procedure is a non-surgical, comprehensive treatment for chronic rhinitis that provides long-lasting relief from runny nose, post-nasal drip, congestion, itching, and sneezing symptoms. It is a brief, in-office procedure that can provide meaningful and lasting relief with little to no downtime—and is virtually painless. RhinAer uses low-temperature radiofrequency energy to disrupt the nerve fibers associated with triggering a runny nose. In other words, it helps calm the overactive nerves that cause chronic rhinitis and its symptoms. The treatment involves no incisions and can be performed under local anesthesia. It can be effective for allergic and non-allergic rhinitis.

How it works

Before the treatment, your ENT doctor will first apply local anesthesia to numb the inside of your nose to minimize any discomfort. Your physician will then insert the small RhinAer wand into your nostril.

Using low-temperature radiofrequency (RF) energy from its tip, RhinAer precisely targets and calms down the overactive nerves causing the rhinitis, helping to reduce the production and flow of unwanted mucus. RhinAer can also help shrink inflamed soft tissue in your nose to help relieve congestion.

Typically, the entire appointment lasts less than an hour and then you can get back to your day and enjoy lasting relief. Most patients experience little to no discomfort during the treatment.

Additional benefits

RhinAer substantially reduces symptoms so patients can get back to living a normal life without constant dependency on medications, tissues, and sprays. Additional benefits of the RhinAer procedure include improved sleep, reduced risk of sinus infections, less daytime sleepiness, improved concentration, and being better able to handle stress.

Patients show significant improvement in the following:

  • Runny nose and nasal congestion
  • Nasal and throat itching, and sneezing
  • Post-nasal drip
  • Chronic cough
  • Quality of life

It can be performed right here in our office under local anesthesia, making the option so much more convenient for our patients than traditional surgery. While
