Ohio Sinus Institute was founded by Dr. Boris Karanfilov. He performs more in-office procedures than any other ENT specialist in the Columbus area and our office is considered a “center of excellence.” We pride ourselves on providing each patient with a high level of attention. Our Physician
Our office considers itself to be at the forefront of medical science in the area of sinus issues. Dr. Karanfilov was a contributor and co-author of a crucial study relating to the use of balloon sinus dilation. This is a minimally invasive procedure that allows for blocked sinus pathways to be opened without the need for incisions. In 2005, Dr. Karanfilov performed the first balloon sinus dilation procedure in Ohio. Dr. Karanfilov has spoken on the use of balloon sinus dilation in both national and international settings.
Dr. Karanfilov is well-published in his research and has developed courses on sinus surgery for resident doctors currently in training.
