Dr. Boris Karanfilov – ENT Specialist

Boris Karanfilov, M.D. was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. During his teenage years, he started and ran a successful small business on the very same property as his office. He attended Bishop Watterson High School graduating as valedictorian and then completed his undergraduate degree in molecular biology at The Ohio State University, graduating summa cum laude.
After earning his medical degree from Ohio State, he went on to do a one-year general surgical internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He completed his Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center. After residency, he completed a one-year fellowship in Rhinology and Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery with the world-renowned Rhinologist, Frederick A. Kuhn, M.D. in Savannah, Georgia.
In 2003, Dr. Karanfilov established Ohio Sinus Institute in Dublin with the goal of offering subspecialty care, while incorporating the latest advances based on his clinical research. Notable peer reviewed studies include office-based balloon sinus dilation, steroid-eluting sinus stents and minimally invasive treatments for sinus disease.
Dr. Karanfilov has lectured both nationally and internationally and has published extensively on various rhinologic disorders. He currently serves as the Assistant Program Director for ENT residents at OhioHealth.
Dr. Karanfilov is the most experienced fellowship-trained sinus surgeon in Columbus, Ohio, having performed thousands of complicated and revision sinus surgeries. He offers a comprehensive assessment of your nasal sinus condition and an individualized treatment plan. As the owner of a small practice, he prides himself on the personable and individual attention each patient receives. Dr. Karanfilov will take the time to go over results and care plans in person. He will spend as much time as necessary with you to make sure you understand your options as well as the process going forward.
